Hawaii developed a powerful creative strategy to provide Virgin Holidays with one voice throughout its communications.
The marketing team at Virgin Holidays approached Hawaii to develop a fresh visual language that needed to work in both print and online. Previously, their efforts had concentrated on print so there was a lack of synergy with any digital output. It was imperative that the work was unique and distinctive to Virgin Holidays brand.
We took inspiration from Virgin’s brand identity and used the luggage tag icon to create a modular system of repeats. This was overlaid with photography and animated as online and in-store video idents.
To complete the holistic visual narrative of the brand, we commissioned a unique font for Virgin Holidays, formatted for print and web.

We developed a series of layered patterns as visual vehicles for photography, and created and implemented a system to help the in-house teams to quickly create new designs when required.
To complete the sense of an exclusive brand, we worked with type foundry Dalton Maag to create a bespoke font that was unique to Virgin Holidays.
Hawaii created a series of short stings to promote Virgin’s key global destinations, bringing to life printed cover designs for each holiday destination. Taking a playful approach to manipulating the brand logo, we wanted to inject a sense of modernity. The short animations were used online and within internal retail spaces to promote the Virgin Holidays brand.
